Philippians 4:4-8 teaches us to rejoice in the Lord, pray instead of worrying, and
fill our minds with things that are true, noble, just, pure, lovely, and praiseworthy.
God’s peace will guard our hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Some of our greatest battles will not be physical—they will be mental. The enemy tries to gain access to our minds through lies, fear, and deception. He wants us to doubt God and His Word so that we will give up or settle for less than God’s best.
But we must listen to God, not the enemy.
Joshua 1:8 tells us to meditate on God’s Word day and night and to do what it
says. We must guard our minds by continually filling them with God’s truth.
But we also need to guard our hearts. Proverbs 23:7 says, “For as he thinks in his
heart, so is he.” Proverbs 4:23 tells us to guard our hearts because from them
flow the issues of life.
What we allow into our hearts eventually affects our words, actions, and lives. So
avoid gossip, careless words, negativity, and distractions. Keep your eyes straight
ahead and stay focused on Jesus.
Hebrews 12:2 says we should be “looking unto Jesus.” What you allow into your
heart and mind will influence the life you live.
So guard your heart and mind.
Keep your focus on God.
Keep moving and looking straight ahead.
