It was another packed house at the Winnie Stowell Community Building last Saturday evening as the community gathered for the East Chambers ISD Education Foundation celebration “The Buccaneer Gala – 12th Annual Fundraising Kickoff”!

Guests were treated to a delicious rib-eyed steak dinner grilled to perfection by Edward Meaux, Skipper Hamilton, and team. Teachers and administrators served the meal to the attendees. Complimentary beer and wine were provided to encourage competitive bidding on the silent auction and live auction.

Bidding on collegiate cakes has become a very entertaining experience at the gala. Four different cakes were bid on and the college alums enjoyed outbidding each other. Lamar University, LSU, University of Texas, and Texas A&M University cakes brought in close to $10,000 in bids!

The Education Foundation Board of Directors, chaired by Lance Bauer, wants to thank everyone for supporting the foundation. Due to the community’s generosity, the foundation was able to fund grant awards totaling $75,651 during the 2025-2026 school year. Since the inception of the East Chambers ISD Education Foundation in 2013, over $574,143 in grants has been awarded for students of East Chambers ISD.
