A new addition to the playground at East Chambers Elementary School was dedicated last Thursday afternoon to Braden Jay Bouse, who tragically lost his life in 2023. Braden was a sixth grader at ECJH. He was a “sweet-hearted child who would always brighten your day with a loving smile”.
ECISD Scott Campbell dedicated the “Giggle Garden” in memory of Braden as dozens of family, friends, and teachers gathered in his memory. “Thank you for coming to the dedication of our newest addition to the East Chambers Elementary School playground. This space, dubbed the Giggle Garden, is designed to bring joy, inclusivity, and music to all our little Buccaneers. Students will engage in fun features ranging from outdoor musical instruments to tether balls. Included in the area, we also have a communication board, funded by a previous grant, that assists students in interactions with their peers, and you will notice a specialized base covering the entire area which ensures accessibility for students in wheelchairs.
This project was made possible through a partnership by donation from the Braden Bouse family, work by the East Chambers Independent School District, and a grant by the ECISD Education Foundation. Braden was a student who was loved and cherished by his teachers and peers when he attended East Chambers until his passing at just twelve years old. We now dedicate this space to his memory, honoring his joyful spirit alongside his parents and twin brother, Mason.”
