The Bucs played in the Dayton Tournament, January 16-18. EC finished the Tournament with a record of 3-0. They picked up wins over Lumberton, 3-2, Silsbee, 6-2, and Bridge City, 2-0.

Against Lumberton, the Bucs scored first to go up 1-0. Lumberton scored 2 unanswered goals to take a 2-1 lead at halftime. EC scored twice in the second half while shutting out Lumberton to take the 3-2 win

Stats against Lumberton:

Scoring for the Bucs were Jose Rufino, Max Vargas and Chris Chavez. Assists: Jose Rufino, Max Vargas and Cristobal Cerritos.

Defensively the Bucs were led by Cristian Moreno, Bryan Chavez and Jose Rufino..

Goalkeeper Alejandro Roca had 3 blocks and 3 saves.

Stats versus Silsbee:

Scoring for the Bucs were Chris Chavez (2 goals), Max Vargas, Francisco Granados,  Moises Santana and Adan Garcia. Assists: Francisco Granados, Chris Chavez and David Lopez.

Defensively the Bucs were led by Cristian Moreno and Ricardo Lopez along with Bryan Chavez, Mario Herrera and Jose Rufino.

Goalkeeper Anthony Gomez finished the game with 5 saves and 2 blocks.

Stats against Bridge City:

Scoring for the Bucs were Ricardo Lopez and Adan Garcia. Assists: Francisco Granados and Max Vargas

Defensively the Bucs were led by Bryan Chavez with 4 steals, Ricardo Lopez with 3 steals, Cristian Moreno and Francisco Grandos with 2 steals each.

Goalkeeper  Alejandro Roca had 5 saves and 1 block.

Overall record: 8-0-1

The Bucs were set to host 5A Rosenberg Terry on Monday but the game was cancelled due to the weather. Next game, the Bucs will travel to Lumberton to take on the Raiders January 24th.
