The Winnie Area Chamber of Commerce (WACC) held its Second Annual Back to School Bash last Saturday at the Winnie Stowell Community Building.

Free school supplies were provided for students in Pre 3 through Fifth grade. Each grade supplies were prepackaged. Over 233 students received school supplies, backpacks, and free gifts from participating sponsors.

The remaining school supplies will be brought to the school for the supply closets so when a student needs supplies, they will be available to the student.

We are grateful to our community partners for having a successful event. Thank you to Bayou Bend – main sponsor; Stratton Napa – backpack sponsor; Bluebonnet Financial – backpack sponsor; Riceland Medical Center – backpack and Frigid Frog sponsor, WS Lions Club – backpack and supplies for Junior High and High School and popcorn.

Many thanks to our community sponsors – Coastal Gateway Health Center, Whataburger, Sonic, Common Cents Critt Union, The Thrift Barn, Cornerstone Church, Chambers County Sheriff’s Office, and New Leaf Counsel.
