The Ministerial Alliance Minute
By Rev. Hoang Nguyen, St. Louis Catholic Church
Since coming to Winnie, I have seen many creatures around the grounds of St. Louis Catholic Church—frogs, birds, lovebugs, snakes, and even crawfish! Whenever I see them, I am reminded that we live on fertile land. There is plenty of life growing around us.
To be honest, we probably don’t want too many snakes, frogs, or crawfish around the church! But there is one thing we can never have too many of: souls coming to the Lord.
St. Paul reminds us in Scripture, “Whether we live or die, we are the Lord’s” (Romans 14:8). What a beautiful reminder that we belong to God and that His love for us is wholehearted, unchanging, and continuous.
Just as mama and papa birds care for and provide for their young, our Heavenly Father provides for us. He feeds us through the Word of His Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, strengthens us through the sacraments of the Church, and supports us through the prayers of our faith community.
May St. Louis Catholic Church always be fertile ground—not only for the creatures around us, but especially for souls growing closer to the Lord.
If you need a place to worship, the doors of St. Louis Catholic Church are always open. We would be honored to welcome you.
