Our Chambers County Historical Commission earned the Distinguished Service Award from the Texas Historical Commission for work we did in 2025… this is the 21st year in a row we’ve received this award! This is a better record than much larger counties. We put in well over a thousand volunteer hours this past year to protect our cemeteries and historic sites, write research papers for historic markers, set up educational displays, locate unmarked graves, record the histories of locals and much more. We are blessed to live in this history-rich area!
