CHAMBERS COUNTY, Texas – Volunteers and community partners will roll up their sleeves at Gregory Park on Wednesday, October 14, helping clean up the park and put the finishing touches on a new splash pad designed to give area children and families a safe, free place to play and gather outdoors.
WHAT: Volunteers will help clean up Gregory Park and put finishing touches on the new splash pad. The event will provide opportunities for photos and video of volunteers working throughout the park, the new splash pad, and project partners working alongside community members.
WHEN: Wednesday, October 14, 2026, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
WHERE: Gregory Park, Stowell, Chambers County, Texas
WHO: Expected participants and special guests include:
WHY: Gregory Park serves a community where access to free outdoor recreation has been limited. Chambers County funded the base splash pad project, while private support allowed the project to be expanded and upgraded to create a more inclusive and durable community amenity. The new splash pad is designed to provide more than a place to cool off. It will create a neighborhood gathering place where children can play, families can spend time together, and the community can enjoy free outdoor recreation for years to come.
MEDIA OPPORTUNITIES: Media are invited to attend the workday. Opportunities will include volunteers working throughout Gregory Park, visuals of the new splash pad and park improvements, and interviews with representatives from The Great Outdoors Fund, 1PointFive, and Chambers County.
