East Chambers Runnin’ Bucs Basketball Overall 27-8, District 12-2

  On Tuesday, February 11th, the East Chambers Buccaneers hosted and defeated the Anahuac Panthers 49-41 in district action to close out the regular season.

  The Bucs did not play up to the high standard that they have set, especially defensively and struggled all night.

  Leading scorers for the Runnin’ Bucs were #1 Jarrell Smith with 13points, 3 rebounds, 5 assists, 7 deflections, and 7 steals; #5 Colby West with 10 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 deflections, and 4 steals; #4 Cam Dillard with 9 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 deflections, and 5 steals; #3 Jaxson Pitre with 5 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 4 deflections, and 3 steals; #21 Evan Callahan with 5 points, 1 assist, and 1 deflection; #20 Darius Edmonson with 4 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 deflections, and 1 steal; and #32 Kevin Dodd-Albritton with 3 points, and 2 rebounds.

  It was also a bittersweet night as the Buccaneers honored their five Seniors: Aden Thornton, Aidan Singh, Kevin, Dodd, Jarrell Smith, and Jaxson Pitre. Coach Sutherland commented, “These Seniors have been cornerstones in this program. A special thanks to them for their efforts over the years and also to their parents for doing such a great job with the Senior Night ceremonies. Geaux Bucs!”

  The East Chambers Buccaneers hosted the Lumberton Raiders on Friday, February 14th in a warm-up game to prepare for the playoffs. The Runnin’ Bucs defeated the Raiders 50-37.

  EC Sophomore, #4 Cam Dillard lead all scorers with 16 points (3 threes), 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 deflections, and 2 steals; #1 Jarrell Smith with 15 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists, 7 deflections, and 2 steals; #3 Jaxson Pitre with 12 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 5 deflections, and 4 steals, #5 Colby West with 4 points, 1 rebound, 2 deflections, and 1 steal; and #23 Dayvon Wallace with 3 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist.

  This runs the Buccaneers record to 27 -8 on the year.

  The Runnin’ Bucs traveled to Warren on Tuesday, February 18th to take on the Huntington Red Devils in the Bi-District round of the playoffs. Geaux Bucs!
