East Chambers Boys Soccer Kicks Off 2025 Season

The Bucs played in the Huffman Tournament, January 9-11. EC finished the Tournament with a record of 2-0-1. They picked up wins over Vidor, 1-1 and Royal, 3-1. They concluded the tournament against the #7 ranked team in 4A Region 2, Sulphur Springs, on Saturday with the game ending in a 3-3 tie.

Stats against Vidor: Goals 1, Shots 22, Crosses 19, Corners 8, Free Kicks 4

Scoring for the Bucs was Ricardo Lopez. Jose Rufino had the assist.

Defensively the Bucs were led by Cristian Moreno, Bryan Chavez and Ricardo Lopez.

Goalkeepers Alejandro Roca and Anthony Gomez combined for 1 block and 1 save.

Stats versus Royal: Goals 3, Shots 10, Crosses 11, Corners 1, Free Kicks 7

Scoring for the Bucs were Francisco Granados, Cristobal Cerritos and Chris Chavez.

Defensively the Bucs were led by Francisco Granados with 6 steals, Bryan Chavez with 5 steals and Ricardo Lopez with 4 steals.

Goalkeeper Alejandro Roca finished the game with 5 blocks and 5 saves.

Scoring for the Bucs were Moises Santana and Cristobal Cerritos. Adan Garcia had an assist.

Defensively the Bucs were led by Bryan Chavez with 6 steals, Cristian Moreno with 4 steals, Ricardo Lopez and Mario Herrera with 3 steals each.

Goalkeepers Alejandro Roca and Anthony Gomez had 1 save each.

Overall record: 5-0-1

The Bucs continue play this week in the Dayton Tournament January 16-18. They will play Lumberton on Thursday, Silsbee on Friday and Bridge City on Saturday.
