CCSO ASSISTS US MARSHALS IN ARREST OF TEXAS TOP 10 MOST WANTED SEX OFFENDER

Sheriff Brian Hawthorne reports, on November 27, 2024, Chambers County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by the US Marshals Service Fugitive Task Force to assist in apprehending a subject by the name of Michael Petterson who was on the Texas DPS Top 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders list for sex offender violations. The subject was tracked to an address in Old River. Eventually, the decision was made to surround the residence and call out Petterson. Thanks to the combined efforts of the Marshals and CCSO, Petterson complied without incident and was taken into custody. Petterson was transported to the Chambers County Jail by CCSO, ensuring a safe conclusion to the operation.
