1POINTFIVE Holds “Listening” Townhall in Winnie Re: Carbon Capture Storage

In a manner which can only be described as “clandestine”, 1PointFive held a townhall meeting last week in Winnie to “take questions and concerns only” about the six carbon capture storage wells that are currently being built in north Winnie. The moderator of the meeting was a representative from the Texas Railroad (TRR) Commission who firmly stated that the session was for questions and comments only and no response to the questions/comments will be made by the representatives of either the TRR or representatives of 1POINTFIVE.
Most people who addressed the representatives spoke about safety issues. There are concerns about soil contamination, water contamination, and public safety procedures in case of a leaking well or possible explosion.
TRR and 1POINTFIVE state that they are gathering responses to the concerns and will hold another town hall meeting to discuss the worries.
