Don’t be Highjacked

  Ephesians 3:20 reminds us that God, by His mighty power working within us, can accomplish infinitely more than we could ever ask or imagine.

  In our darkest moments, when we least deserve it, God reaches down where we are and touches our lives. When He begins working in us, the outcome is greater than we could ever hope for.    Psalm 145:16 says, “When you open your hand, you satisfy the hunger and thirst of every living thing.” To maintain that we must stay relationship-oriented, not ritual-oriented. Our spiritual lives must be about drawing closer to God, not simply going through the motions. James 4:8 says,  

  “When you draw close to God, God will draw close to you. God’s will become our will.    Everywhere I go I see people with their phones out taking “selfies”. 

When it comes to God, it can’t be a selfie. If the picture of your life only has you in it, you’re in trouble. Abandon fear, surrender yourself, and get God in the picture. Then let God touch the deepest places of your heart.

  As Psalm 51 reminds us, “God, make a fresh start in me.” From our chaos, trials, frustrations, and disappointments, ask God to shape a new beginning.

  Stay alert. Stay close. Surrender fully. And let God transform you.
