From Southeast Texas standout to one of the most dominant players in NAIA football — Ernest Ceasar III’s journey is nothing short of remarkable.
A product of East Chambers High School, Ceasar made his mark early, winning the prestigious Willie Ray Smith Offensive Player of the Year Award after a senior season that saw him rack up nearly 1,700 rushing yards and 39 touchdowns. His explosive play — including a 400-yard, five-touchdown performance against Woodville — cemented his legacy as one of the area’s all-time greats.
He took his game to Texas Wesleyan, Ceasar took his game to another level.
The Beaumont native became a two-time First-Team All-American, rewriting the record books with an NAIA single-season record 40 rushing touchdowns. His versatility has made him one of the most dynamic players in the country — adding receiving and even passing scores to his résumé while averaging over seven yards per carry.
But his story isn’t just about stats.
Teammates and coaches say Ceasar’s growth — from raw talent to disciplined leader — has been just as impressive. Once relying on natural ability, he’s now known for his preparation, focus, and leadership both on and off the field.
“It’s a grind… every inch matters,” Ceasar said — a mindset that’s fueled his rise from local star to national standout.
From East Chambers to All-American — Ernest Ceasar III is proof that hard work, growth, and determination can turn potential into greatness.
