Chambers County residents will have the opportunity to vote early for the March 3rd primary election starting Tuesday, February 17th. Historically, over half of the registered voters in Chambers County vote early.
Sample ballots are available on the county clerk’s website. To vote in the primary, you must choose between a Democrat party sample ballot and a Republican party sample ballot. And to vote in the primary in person or by mail, you must ask for either a Democrat ballot or Republican ballot.
There are several races within Chambers County that are garnering a lot of attention. State Representative Terri Leo Wilson faces a strong challenge from businessman Nathan Watkins. District 253rd District Judge Chap Cain is facing a strong challenge from attorney Josh Fitzgerald, and JP Pct. 5 David Hatfield is being challenged by two candidates, Brad Moon and Cindy Wallace Davis. If no candidate receives over 50% of the vote on March 3rd, a runoff will be held on May 26, 2026, between the two top vote recipients. There are several statewide races that are expected to have a primary runoff on Mary 26th.
In the Chambers County race for County Judge, Ryan Dagley, the current Pct. 4 Commissioner, is running unopposed as is Judge, County Court-at-law Cindy Price, District Clerk Patti Henry, County Clerk Heather Hawthorne, County Treasurer Nicole (Nikki) Whittington, and JP Pct.1 Celia Devillier. All these candidates will win their races defacto since they are not being challenged in the GOP primary and have no Democrat challenger in the November 3rd general election.
