Tyrrell Park Nature & Visitor Center announces its 2025 Stargazing Event Dates

  BEAUMONT, TX – Due to the overwhelming success of last year’s events, the Tyrrell Park Nature and Visitor Center is thrilled to announce two stargazing sessions for 2025. Join us for a free out-of-this-world experience on Friday, February 21, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, and Friday, August 15, from 7:30 pm to 10:00 pm.
 
  These free, family-friendly “Star Parties” will be held at the nature center, located at 3930 Babe Zaharias Drive in Beaumont’s Tyrrell Park. Partners include the Big Thicket National Preserve, Beaumont Children’s Museum, Sabine-Neches Chapter of the Texas Master Naturalists, Village Creek State Park, and Lamar Institute of Technology.
 
  Telescopes and informational tables will be set up in the front parking lot, offering stunning views of the moon, stars, planets, and more. ASL interpreters will be on-site. Inside the nature center, enjoy interactive space-themed activities, including crafts provided by the Beaumont Children’s Museum and a portable planetarium. The Sabine-Neches Chapter, Texas Master Naturalists will offer engaging exhibits on nocturnal pollinators, including bat information, seed ball creation, and microscope views of bee anatomy. A special moth viewing station will be featured at the August event.
 
   Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, bug spray, red light flashlights, water bottles, and dress for the weather. Parking will be available in the side lots.
 
  The Tyrrell Park Nature & Visitor Center’s gift shop will be open (credit/debit cards only).
