“Serving the people of Chambers County is the honor of my life, and I am running for re-election to continue fighting for safer communities, stronger families, and the men and women who protect us every day,” said Rep. Terri Leo Wilson. “I will never stop working to ensure our law enforcement officers, firefighters, and prosecutors have the support and tools they need to keep our communities safe.”
Rep. Leo Wilson has played a central role in securing significant state resources for Chambers County, including major investments in local law enforcement through the Rural Law Enforcement Salary Assistance Grant Program. This funding includes:

Chambers County has received annual allocations from the statewide opioid settlement agreements, including more than $48,000 in 2023, 9,355 dollars in 2024, and more than $45,000 in 2025. Rep. Leo Wilson also highlighted her strong support for firefighters and first responders. This past session, she proudly supported passage of HB 198, the Wade Cannon Act, which requires free, annual occupational cancer screenings for Texas firefighters. These screenings include
urine analysis, blood panels, and chest X-rays to ensure early detection of cancers linked to toxic exposure.
“From securing law enforcement funding to protecting our firefighters through the Wade Cannon Act, public safety is not just a priority for me. It is a commitment,” said Rep. Leo Wilson. “I look forward to continuing this work with the support of President Trump and Governor Abbott, and I am honored to have their confidence as we launch our campaign.”
