Winnie-Stowell Lions Club Show Movie in the Park

“The Lion King” was an appropriate movie for the Winnie-Stowell Lions Club to show during their first Movie in the Park event this past Saturday evening.

A crowd of about sixty kids and adults watched from lawn chairs, blankets and some from inside their cars, as the movie was shown on a mobile advertising truck. The truck has huge screens on both sides and a smaller one on the back.
“We were really pleased with the way the evening went. The weather was good for us and with the free popcorn, lemonade and cookies, to go with the movie it made for a great event.” said Bill Keating, President of the Lions Club. “

We were also glad to have The Frigid Frog come out and make delicious snow cones and treats available.”

The Winnie-Stowell park was hopping with activity on Saturday, as there were two birthday parties and a graduation party all at the same time. There was plenty of room for all the events.
Keating said the Lions are planning another Movie in the Park, “perhaps during the Christmas season with maybe Elf or Home Alone.”

The Lions Club is the largest service organization in the world. The Winnie-Stowell Lions Club is quite active in the community and always happy to welcome new members that want to serve the community while having fun and making new friends.
