There are many stories in the Bible of Jesus healing anything and everything. I definitely believe that He did do that then, but what of today? While Jesus healed while He was on earth He healed for various reasons: sometimes it says He had compassion, sometimes it was to reveal that He was God and could do spiritual healing, and sometimes to fulfill scripture. The healings He did were only secondary to the importance of believing in Him and thus receiving eternal life. Jesus puts more emphasis on being our Lord than being our helper/healer. Will He heal/ help us today? He will be/do what we need. The key for us is to come to Jesus. Whatever your need/problem/issue, Jesus and only Jesus is your answer. In Mark 7 Jesus heals a deaf and dumb man in a different way than He dealt with anyone else: touching his ears and touching his tongue with His spit, then commanding “Be opened!”. It worked. Why did Jesus treat this man differently? Can’t Jesus heal without touches? Sure, but Jesus understood what He was dealing with in ways we don’t. Let’s come to Jesus and trust Him, no matter what He does.
