James might be my favorite biblical book as it is so practical. He begins by calling for all to rejoice as we encounter trials. Trials can be problems, temptations, and tasks. Everyone faces trials that force us to make choices. We have to determine what we believe (good/bad) as to the options. Many times we can argue for both sides. How can we know what to do? James promises us that If we really want to know what is the wise choice that God will surely generously provide wisdom. He says, “We have not because we ask not.” There are many times that we can do whatever we want as all options are legal and we are “free”, but we need to seek the mature choice. We need to come to a place of being steadfast and strong because we have found what God says is wise. Confident in God. We can get there but most don’t, running with our flesh and being worldly and self centered. We might be in the minority but if we are with God then we have found the good path. Steadfast! Get there.
