One of the favorite passages in the Bible is 1 Corinthians 13, called the love chapter. Its teaching is beautiful but also convicting in that we have to admit it is wonderful, gives meaning to life, and is a worthy goal. But we are often bad lovers. Love is patient and kind but we often aren’t. Love is not arrogant or rude, but we are. We are sinners, which is never love. It goes on describing love in difficult to grasp ways so we have to admit we don’t necessarily know what love is. Then it says something amazing: “Love never ends.” This does not mean that love never stops as it seems to here on earth, but that love is what we can look forward to in heaven. Every day, fresh love. Refreshing and delightful, caring for others and being confident that we are loved continually. It’s gonna be great and it’s going to be love. We have experienced tastes of it here, but never in its totality. But there? Oh yes, always. So try your hardest to love. Get back up and try again when you fail, knowing that it’s right and life. God loved us first. Pass it on.
