I once met a hypochondriac. They were not actually sick, but they told others they were to get their way in situations of life. As a child when their parents told them to do something that they didn’t want to do, they learned that if they lied and said that they didn’t feel well, that they could skip the task. A problem arose when they got used to not having to do anything they did not want to do: they couldn’t make themselves do unpleasant tasks. They got to the place that they weren’t sure if they really were sick or just faking it because claiming to be and acting as if they were sick makes you feel sick. Now they believed their own lies. That’s a bad situation to be in. One day soon everyone will have to stand before God and He will know the truth about each and everyone of our deeds. He knows we are not what we should be and need forgiveness for any and all of our sins. So He sent Jesus to die on the cross so that all who believe Jesus is God’s sacrifice to forgive sins will be saved. He raised Him from the dead to show He was victorious. Have you believed on Jesus or are you so used to lying that you aren’t sure what the truth is anymore? “Ask and it will be given to you, seek and you will find, knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and the one who searches finds, and for the one who knocks the door will be opened.” (Matthew 7:7-8)
