Winnie area kids flocked to the Juanita Hargraves Memorial Library in Winnie for the library’s annual First Responder Day at the Library. It is part of the Chambers County library system’s summer reading program that extends to July 12, 2025.

The kids had the opportunity to explore the firetrucks and ambulances provided by the Winnie Stowell Volunteer Fire Department and Winnie Stowell EMS. Game Warden David Vannoy did an excellent job presenting to the kids and the Texas Game Warden boat was a huge hit with the kids.

Neches Federal Credit Union’s Mr. Incredible took pictures with the kids and attendees met the deputies of Chambers County’s new motorcycle unit.

The next kids’ event will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd, from 2pm to 3pm at the Winnie Stowell Community Bldg. for the John O’Bryant Magic Show.
