Good Times at the ECISD Education Foundation Buccaneer Gala

  It was another sellout crowd for the 11th Annual Buccaneer Gala Fundraising Kickoff benefiting the East Chambers ISD Education Foundation. The gala was held last Saturday evening at the Winnie Stowell Community Building. Lercy’s and Skipper Hamilton with Cattlemen’s Kitchen and his crew grilled ribeye steaks to perfection while the attendees socialized and bid on the dozens of silent auction items.

  It was bittersweet as retiring Superintendent Scott Campbell took the microphone and talked about the good work of the foundation and his appreciation of their hard work. Incoming Superintendent Andrea Smith gave closing remarks thanking the school board members and foundation members.

  Shannon Meaux President of the ECISD Education Foundation, proudly announced that since the inception of the Education Foundation in 2013, $498,492 has been awarded in grants for students of ECISD. She thanked all the volunteers who made the gala successful and especially the sponsors who have generously supported the Education Foundation over the years.
