EC Lady Bucs Powerlifting Team Compete at Regionals

Lady Bucs Advance to State

  Congratulations to our Lady Bucs Powerlifting Team! The East Chambers Lady Bucs traveled to Palacios on Wednesday, February 25 to compete at Regionals and came back as the 2026 REGION 4 3A  REGIONAL CHAMPIONS!!!

  Coach DeYoung commented, “I am super proud of the Lady Bucs today for dominating the regional powerlifting meet. They were team champions with double the points of 2nd place. 14 total medals!! It was a great day to be a Buccaneer.”

State qualifiers:

-Kaitlyn Ortiz: 1st place, outstanding deadlifted, outstanding lifter award.

-Kathryn Johnson: 1st place, regional bench press record

-Irma Matehuala: 1st place

-Jayla Coffey: 1st place

-Karen Hernandez: 2nd place

-Vanessa Lopez: 2nd place

 

3rd place Medalist:

Keilyn Avila

Sherlyn Vargas

 

4th place Medalist:

Kyler Thrash

Jimena Vargas

Mishel Hernandez

 

5th pace Medalist:

Isabella Cuellar

Zamirha Gonzalez

Camila Gurrola

 

  Also a big congratulations to Coach DeYoung! Coach DeYoung was awarded the 2026 Region 4 Outstanding Powerlifting Coach.

  The Lady Bucs Powerlifting team will travel to Edinburg on Thursday, March 19th to compete at State.
