The East Chambers Runnin’ Bucs, #2 in District, hosted the Kountze Lions, #1 in District, on Tuesday, February 4th. It was a rough night for the Buccaneers. The Runnin’ Bucs played really hard, but took a beat down from the Kountze Lions with a final score of 97-53.
Congratulations to Duane Joubert and the Lions on a well deserved District Championship and good luck in the playoffs.
The Buccaneers will led by #3 Jaxson Pitre with 22 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 deflections, and 2 steals; #5 Colby West with 8 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 deflections, and 1 steal; #20 Darius Edmonson with 7 points, 7 rebounds, and 1 deflection; #23 Dayvon Wallace with 4 points, and 1 rebound; #32 Kevin Dodd-Albritton with 4 points, and 1 rebound; #1 Jarrell Smith with 2 points, 1 rebound, 2 assists, and 2 deflections; #4 Cam Dillard with 2 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist; and #11 Aden Thornton with 2 points, and 2 rebounds.
The East Chambers Runnin’ Bucs defeated the Buna Cougars 67-49 on Friday February 7th, in District 22-3A action in Buna. The game was a lot closer than the score indicated as the Buccaneers would start to pull away and then Buna would make a run and cut it back to five and then it would happen again.
Leading scorers for the Buccaneers were #4 Cam Dillard with 14 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 deflections, and 3 steals; #5 Colby West with 12 points, 3 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 deflections, and 1 steal; #3 Jaxson Pitre with 11 points, 6 rebounds, and 5 deflections; #23 Dayvon Wallace with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 1 deflection, and 3 steals; #1 Jarrell Smith with 10 points, 3 rebounds, 8 assists, and 1 steal; #20 Darius Edmonson with 8 points, 5 rebounds, and 1 deflections, and #21 Evan Callahan with 2 points, 2 rebounds, 2 deflections, and 1 steal.
It was a very balanced scoring night for the Buccaneers.
This runs the Buccaneers record to 25-8 on the year and 11-2 in District.
The final regular season game was held Tuesday, February 11th at home versus the Anahuac Panthers. The five Seniors were honored at Senior Night. They will be featured in next week’s edition. Geaux Bucs!
