East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers fell to Warren 5-4 on Saturday on the final play of the game. The game was tied at four in the bottom of the eighth when Cyrus Cimei singled, scoring one run.
Hayden LeVeck struck out 12 batters on the day. The starter also allowed six hits and four runs over seven innings while walking five.
East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers were the first to get on the board in the first when Tatum Brasseaux doubled, scoring one run.
Sam Standley grounded out, which helped Warren tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
A play gave Warren the lead, 2-1, in the bottom of the third.
East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers captured the lead, 4-2, in the top of the sixth after Sam Billeaudeau doubled to center field, Warren committed an error, and Kevin Dodd singled to center field, each scoring one run.
Warren scored one run in the bottom of the sixth on a solo home run to left field by Kolbyn Bennett following a 7-pitch at-bat.
Nicholas Tolar walked, which helped Warren tie the game at four in the bottom of the seventh.
Levi Ledbetter earned the win for Warren. The pitcher surrendered zero hits and zero runs over one inning, striking out one and walking none. Billeaudeau took the loss for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. The hurler went two-thirds of an inning, surrendering one run (zero earned) on one hit, striking out one and walking one. Parker Brocato opened the game for Warren. The starting pitcher surrendered four hits and four runs (two earned) over seven innings, striking out 17 and walking three.
Brasseaux, Dodd, Billeaudeau, and Hank Huff each collected one hit for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. Brasseaux, Dodd, and Billeaudeau each drove in one run for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers.
Cimei and Easton Evans were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Warren while hitting back-to-back. Bennett, Cimei, and Standley each drove in one run for Warren. Warren had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game. Ledbetter and Brocato led the team with two walks each. Brocato threw an immaculate inning in the fifth, striking out the side on nine pitches. Brocato stole two bases.
East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers couldn’t keep up with Hardin and fell 7-1 on Monday.
Hardin got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after Trevor Jones singled to left field, and Hunter Whitehead grounded out, each scoring one run. J
ayden Phelps earned the win for Hardin. The pitcher gave up two hits and one run (zero earned) over five innings, striking out nine and walking five. Hank Huff took the loss for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. The pitcher went five and two-thirds innings, giving up seven runs (three earned) on three hits, striking out nine and walking three.
East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers’s Koby Jones, the number seven hitter, led East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers with two hits in three at bats. Sam Billeaudeau led East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers with one run batted in. The infielder went 1-for-4 on the day. Hayden LeVeck led East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, piling up six walks for the game.
Lleyton Berry and Jones each drove in one run for Hardin. Kolten Bishop led Hardin with two hits in four at bats. Hardin stole four bases in the game.
