East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers had trouble keeping up with Kirbyville in a 15-0 loss on Tuesday, April 8th.
Kirbyville jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Braxton Jacks hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Kaden Cloud doubled, scoring two runs, an error scored two runs, and Ethan Gatlin singled, scoring one run.
Kirbyville scored seven runs on one hit in the bottom of the third inning. Cooper Murphy drew a walk, scoring one run, Max Myers drew a walk, scoring one run, Jacks drew a walk, scoring one run, David Fussell drew a walk, scoring one run, Luke Fussell drew a walk, scoring one run, and a steal of home scored two runs.
Fussell earned the win for Kirbyville. The pitcher gave up two hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out five and walking two. Hank Huff started the game for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. The starter allowed four hits and six runs (two earned) over one inning, striking out none and walking one.
Sam Billeaudeau led East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers with two hits in two at bats. East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers turned one double play in the game.
Kirbyville’s Gatlin, the number nine hitter, led Kirbyville with two hits in two at bats. Fussell paced Kirbyville with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. Kirbyville were sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Gatlin made the most plays with seven.
Kirbyville scored 11 runs in the third inning, which helped them defeat East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers 21-1 on Friday, April 11th.

An error scored one run, Jacks homered to left field, scoring two runs, Kaden Cloud singled, scoring one run, Ty Meredith grounded out, scoring one run, Michael Stephens was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, an error scored two runs, and Jacks homered to left field, scoring three runs.
Cooper Murphy earned the win for Kirbyville. The starter surrendered one hit and one run over two innings, striking out six and walking two. Jackson Seabaugh took the loss for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. The reliever went one and two-thirds innings, giving up eight runs (six earned) on five hits, striking out two and walking two. Hayden LeVeck started on the hill for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. The hurler allowed two hits and seven runs (one earned) over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking two.
Teal Kraehnke led East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers with one run batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-1 on the day.
Kirbyville tallied nine hits in the game. Jacks provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Kirbyville with eight runs batted in. The infielder went 3-for-4 on the day. Kirbyville didn’t commit a single error in the field. David Fussell had the most chances in the field with six. East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers traveled to Buna on Tuesday, April 15th to take on the Buna Cougars.
