I am Bradley W. “Brad” Moon, Retired Precinct 5 Constable and I am running for the office of Justice of the Peace Precinct 5. I am seeking this position as the desire to be a Justice of the Peace began early in my career while serving as a corrections officer. I believe in professionalism, honesty, integrity, fairness, and impartiality in the service of the residents of Precinct 5 Chambers County.
I moved to Chambers County in mid-1976 relocating here from the Bryan-College Station area to remain close to my parents who had moved here as well. It is here I met the love of my life, Della Jones Moon, a life-long resident of Chambers County. We have been married for over 39
years and together we have three grown children, sixteen grandchildren and seven great grandchildren with number eight due on February 17, 2026.
My career, spanning more than 36 years, began in 1989 while attending the Liberty County Sheriff’s Academy and spending many hours riding with commissioned officers. I was hired as a jailer in July of 1989 and throughout those 36 plus years, I have served in the capacity of Jailer/Corrections Officer, Patrol Deputy, Patrol Sergeant, Investigator/Detective with the last 4 years and 9 months as Constable. While I was Constable, I maintained a balanced and responsible budget and served the needs of the residents of Precinct 5. Currently I continue to serve, working in the private sector, as a School Resource Officer for a private school in Baytown. I have an Associate of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice, a Master Peace Officer Certification with 3,378 training hours in Criminal and Civil Law.
I have the Endorsement of the Chambers County Officers Association, the County Law Enforcement Officers who work to keep us as safe as possible.
Some would say the Justice of the Peace is not a Law Enforcement position. I would say it is in fact a Law Enforcement position, as knowledge and understanding of the Law and its function aid in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of the Justice of the Peace.
While I have not been a Justice of the Peace, my heart is and has been with and for the people of Precinct 5. In one of the many conversations I had with the previous Constable, Popeye Oldham, he told me to “help the people when and where you can.” This is one of the many reasons I am running for this office.
Experience, education, and skills do, in fact, matter. All of which I possess which will enable me to serve you, the citizens of Precinct 5, as your Justice of the Peace. Vote for a positive change.
Vote for Bradley W. “Brad” Moon.
