Anahuac Panthers vs. East Chambers Buccaneers
Anahuac was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 3-0 to the East Chambers Buccaneers. The Panthers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Buccaneers apparently hadn’t forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.
Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-19, 25-16.
Brayli Van Vickle paced Anahuac’s offense, picking up three kills. Van Vickle got some help from Addison Dugat and her seven assists.
Anahuac’s defeat dropped their record down to 8-24.
Game stats are as follows: #1 Brecken Wilpitz with 2 kills, 6 digs, and 1 assist; #2 Addison Dugat with 1 kill, 2 digs, and 7 assists; #4 Rai’Ana Lewis with 1 block assist, and 6 digs; #5 Callie Henicke with 3 digs; #6 Brogan May with 1 kill and 2 digs; #7 Madison Willis with 1 block, and 3 digs; #8 Brayli Van Vickle with 3 kills and 2 digs; #9 Addi DeHoyos with 1 assist; #10 Avery Smith with 2 kills and 8 digs; #12 Addilynn Pierce with 1 kill, 1 block, 1 block assist, and 3 digs; and #13 Sky Hedges with 2 digs and 1 assist.
Anahuac Panthers vs. Deweyville Pirates
After having lost a blowout in their previous game against East Chambers, Anahuac was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They put the hurt on the Deweyville Pirates with a sharp 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Pirates: they’ve now won seven in a row.
The 3-0 score doesn’t show just how dominant Anahuac was: they took every set by at least ten points. The final score came out to 25-10, 25-15, 25-9.
Brogan May paced Anahuac’s offense, picking up six kills. May got some help from Sky Hedges and her 14 assists.
Anahuac’s win bumped their record up to 9-24. As for Deweyville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-13.
The Lady Panthers hosted the Buna Lady Cougars on Tuesday, September 23rd. They will host the Kirbyville Lady Wildcats on Friday, September 26th with the Varsity game beginning at 4:30pm.
