Last Wednesday evening, Chambers County GOP held a vigil at McCollum Park to honor the life and legacy of slain patriot Charlie Kirk. Under the guidance of CC GOP vice -chair Donnie Self and precinct chairman Nick Rice, close to 500 attendees prayed and sang for unity and understanding.
Several area pastors spoke about the impact Kirk had on embracing his faith and love of country. Pastor Richard Vega of Community Transformation Church in Houston was a personal friend of Kirk’s and spoke passionately about Kirk’s faith and patriotism. Vega, a veteran, described how love of country influenced Kirk’s life and his message to the young people of our country. Vega also spoke of how he and Kirk traveled together spreading the word of the Bible to young people.
Many thanks to Commissioner Pct.4 Ryan Dagley for arranging and preparing McCollum Park for the vigil. Much appreciation to Sheriff Brian Hawthorne for the presence of law enforcement at the vigil.
