EC Lady Bucs Softball Comes Up Short

East Chambers Buccaneers vs. Kountze Lions

  East Chambers blew Kountze out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Tuesday Kountze got their revenge. The Buccaneers fell just short of the Lions by a score of 7-5. For those keeping track at home, that’s the closest defeat the Buccaneers have suffered since March 10th.

  Hailey Hjelle spent all seven innings on the mound, and it’s clear why: she surrendered six earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 12 Ks.

  At the plate, Marley Morgan made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Jadynn Smith was another key player, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.
