It was a beautiful spring weekend and Winnie area residents came out en masse to participate in the Easter activities. Winnie Dodge held their annual Easter Egg-Stravaganza Saturday morning. The dealership was literally turned into a mini carnival! Hundreds of kids enjoyed the huge bounce houses and baby goats and bunnies in the petting zoo entertained everyone. There was face painting by Jamie Leigh Nations and Easter egg dyeing tables. The Frigid Frog was one of the most popular spots handing out free snow cones to the first 100 people. Cattleman’s Kitchen food truck provided delicious “grub” for the attendees. Ten years running, this Easter event gets bigger and better each year!
Jack and Jill Children’s Boutique hosted the Easter Bunny. It was a revolving door as young moms and grandmoms brought in their children to have their picture taken with Peter Rabbit. United Methodist Church had an incredible turnout for their Easter egg hunt and Cornerstone Church hosted hundreds for their Saturday afternoon egg hunt.
This coming Friday Grace Methodist Church will host an Easter egg hunt at Winnie Stowell Park on Good Friday at 10am. There will be thousands of eggs and snow cones and hotdogs. The Arboretum of Winnie will also host an egg hunt at its facilities in Winnie on SH 124. So, if you were not able to participate in an egg hunt this past weekend, you will have another chance on Good Friday.
The Seabreeze Beacon wishes everyone a very Happy Easter!!!
