After Jesus fed five thousand with five loaves and two fish, He gave His disciples a remarkable instruction: “Gather up the fragments that remain, that nothing be lost” (John 6:12).
The miracle was impressive, but so was His concern for the leftovers. What others might have stepped over, or forgotten, Jesus wanted gathered.
That tells us something beautiful about the heart of God. He cares about broken people and pieces.
Life does not always leave us whole. Disappointment shatters dreams. Grief leaves empty chairs. Poor decisions fracture relationships. Sometimes we look at what remains and wonder whether anything valuable can come from it.
But broken does not mean worthless, and scattered does not mean forgotten.
The same Jesus who blessed the bread cared about every fragment afterward. He has not overlooked the broken pieces of your life, either.
Bring Him your wounded heart, your unanswered questions, and the future you cannot figure out. His grace reaches into places you thought were beyond repair.
Your story does not have to end where something fell apart. There is still purpose in what remains.
Today, trust the God of the fragments. In His hands, even the broken pieces can become a testimony of His goodness and faithfulness.
