Construction is moving forward on the new Chambers County Jail & Justice Center, and we’re excited to share the latest progress. This state-of-the-art facility will span over 200,000 square feet, featuring a 336-bed county jail, an upgrade from the current 142-bed facility. It will also house four courtrooms, a new county law enforcement center, a 911 dispatch center, and additional parking to better serve our growing community.
Located on 13 acres between Miller Street, Bolivar Avenue, S. Main Street, and Washington Avenue in Anahuac, this project broke ground on August 6, 2024, and is expected to be completed in Spring 2027. Once finished, this facility will enhance our ability to provide safety and justice for Chambers County.
A special thanks goes out to the Chambers County Commissioners Court, Americus Holdings, and Satterfield & Pontikes Construction for their hard work and dedication in bringing this vision to life. We look forward to sharing more updates as we continue building a stronger, safer Chambers County. Stay tuned!
