Sheriff Brian Hawthorne reports that in the late night hours, on March 28, 2020, Chambers County Sheriff’s Office Deputies responded to an armed robbery that occurred at the Country Boys Gas Station located at 25777 Interstate 10 in Hankamer, Chambers County, Texas. Upon arrival, Chambers County Sheriff’s Office Deputies made contact with the two victims of the aggravated robbery.
The first victim advised that two black males entered the convenience store with pistols in hand, demanding money from the cash register. The victim did not resist and the two suspects took cash and other items from the store. The second victim, who had been walking out of the restroom, was ordered to the ground by the suspects. The two suspects went through the victim’s pockets, taking cash and his keys, before stealing his vehicle and fleeing the scene. Chambers County Sheriff’s Deputies advised other deputies in the area of the stolen vehicle along with descriptions of the suspects.
Shortly afterward, Chambers County Sheriff’s Office Deputies located the unoccupied stolen vehicle. They secured both the scene of the robbery and the vehicle until the Criminal Investigation Division arrived. Detectives, along with the Crime Scene Unit, conducted an investigation, collecting DNA evidence and securing video footage of the suspects.
Thanks to the diligent efforts of the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office Team, key evidence was processed through the Combined DNA Index System (CODIS), which led to the identification and arrests of Eddie Robinson and Edward Stanley. Both suspects are now in custody and face charges of aggravated robbery. Chambers County Sheriff’s Office Detectives worked tirelessly to apprehend the suspects. Advanced forensic analysis played a crucial role in identifying the perpetrators and ensuring their arrests. Chambers County Sheriff’s Office Detectives presented arrest warrants for Eddie Robinson and Edward Stanley in reference to this investigation to Justice of Peace Pt. 2 Mike Wheat, resulting in warrants issued for their arrests for the following offenses:
