Southeast Texas Legends Built Different: East Chambers Alum Glen Gaspard

  From the fields of East Chambers to the bright lights of Texas football, Glen Gaspard built a legacy defined by toughness and production.
  The 1969 standout rushed for 1,200 yards and earned Second Team All-State honors, while also showcasing elite athleticism at the UIL State Track & Field Meet, throwing the shot-put 55’1.5″ and the discus throw (3 lbs., 9 oz) 175’11.5″.
  Gaspard carried that momentum to the University of Texas, where he became the anchor of a dominant Longhorn defense—earning Second Team All-American honors and helping lead UT during one of the most successful runs in program history.
  A 10th-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers, Gaspard went on to play professionally in the World Football   League, continuing a career built on grit, leadership, and consistency.
  A Southeast Texas product who made his mark at every level—Glen Gaspard’s story is one of hard work turning into history.
