The East Chambers Lady Bucs were on the road on Tuesday, April 7th as they traveled to Anahuac to take on the Anahuac Lady Panthers. Due to weather, the Friday game was postponed to Saturday, April 12th against the Kirbyville Lady Wildcats.
Anahuac scored seven runs in the fourth inning, which helped them defeat East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers 10-0 on Tuesday.
Anahuac were the first to get on the board in the first when an error scored one run.
Anahuac scored seven runs on three hits in the top of the fourth inning. Brecken Wilpitz singled, scoring two runs, an error scored two runs, Emma Parkinson singled, scoring one run, and Emily Dominy doubled, scoring two runs.
Destiney Deyoung started in the circle for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and 10 runs (zero earned) over five innings, striking out two and walking five. Parkinson led things off in the circle for Anahuac. The pitcher allowed zero hits and zero runs over five innings, striking out five and walking one.
Wilpitz and Dominy each drove in two runs for Anahuac. Ashley Hedges went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Anahuac in hits. Anahuac had patience at the plate, collecting five walks for the game. Anahuac didn’t commit a single error in the field. Dominy had the most chances in the field with five.
East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers couldn’t keep up with Kirbyville and fell 13-3 on Friday.
Kirbyville jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Roden homered to left field, scoring two runs, an error scored one run, and Carrell singled, scoring one run.
Kirbyville scored five runs on two hits in the bottom of the third inning. Destiney Deyoung induced Smith to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Denz singled, scoring two runs, and Roden doubled, scoring two runs.
Deyoung took the loss for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. The starter went four innings, giving up 13 runs (six earned) on seven hits, striking out none and walking six. Wiggins stepped in the circle first for Kirbyville. The hurler surrendered two hits and two runs (zero earned) over three innings, striking out six and walking one.
Zoe Selby provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers with two runs batted in. The shortstop went 2-for-3 on the day.
Roden drove the middle of the lineup, leading Kirbyville with four runs batted in. The catcher went 2-for-4 on the day. Kirbyville had patience at the plate, amassing six walks for the game.
East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers will travel to Kountze for their next game on Tuesday, April 14th for their final game of the 2026 Season.
