East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers defeated Anahuac 1-0 on Tuesday, March 10th as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Hank Huff and Grant Jones each pitched for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers in the game. Jones struck out Majors to get the last out.
The pitching was strong on both sides. East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers pitchers struck out nine, while Anahuac sat down five.
East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers were the first to get on the board in the first when an error scored one run.
Huff stepped on the hill first for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. The pitcher allowed five hits and zero runs over six and two-thirds innings, striking out eight and walking four. Sutch opened the game for Anahuac. The starter gave up one hit and one run (zero earned) over six innings, striking out five and walking two. Jones appeared in relief for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers.
Koby Jones led East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers with one hit in three at bats.
E Swonke led Anahuac with two hits in two at bats. Garza stole three bases. Anahuac ran wild on the base paths, accumulating five stolen bases for the game.

In the bottom of the second inning, Anahuac went back into the lead after Rivon grounded out, Moore singled to the right side of the infield, A Swonke singled to center field, and Hall singled down the left field line, each scoring one run.
Hayden Leveck began the game for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. The pitcher allowed seven hits and six runs over six innings, striking out eight and walking three. Hall started the game for Anahuac. The starting pitcher allowed five hits and two runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out four and walking three.
Koby Jones led East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers with two hits in four at bats. Zach Richey and Grant Jones each drove in one run for East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers. East Chambers Varsity Buccaneers had a strong eye at the plate, amassing six walks for the game.
Rivon led Anahuac with two runs batted in from the number seven spot in the lineup. Moore, Majors, Leavins, Hall, Garza, E Swonke, and Swonke each collected one hit for Anahuac. Majors stole two bases.
