I am Judge David Hatfield, and I have proudly served as your full-time Justice of the Peace for Precinct #5 since 2019. I am seeking re-election because my commitment to fairness, honesty, and service to the people of Chambers County remains as strong as ever.

I am a lifelong resident of Chambers County and have been married to my wife, Stacey, for 27 years. Together, we have raised our two daughters, JoDee and Rylee. Our family has also welcomed exchange students from several countries, and I take great pride in helping young people build connections with new cultures and perspectives.

My dedication to public service began early. At just 14 years old, I started volunteering with the Anahuac Volunteer Fire Department. Over the years, I devoted more than 25 years to Anahuac EMS and have volunteered with numerous organizations, including the Chambers County CPS Board, AYSO Board, Hankamer Fire Department, Lone Star Guardians, and Anahuac ISD. I am also a founding member of Hankamer Community Fellowship Church.

In 1992, I began my law enforcement career as one of the first 911 telecommunicators for the Chambers County Sheriff’s Office. After earning my Texas Peace Officer License from North Harris Community College in 1994, I served the Sheriff’s Office in multiple roles, including Corrections Officer, Deputy, Investigator, and Reserve Deputy. During my career, I worked under five Sheriffs and earned my Master Peace Officer License. I also served as a Reserve Arson Investigator with the Chambers County Fire Marshal’s Office.

Since being elected in 2019, I have completed nearly 3,000 hours of combined training in law enforcement, criminal procedure, and civil procedure. I have made significant improvements to the Justice of the Peace office, including enhanced security, a new courtroom, the addition of a part-time employee, and the dedication of the building to the late Judge Josh B. Mayes—all while maintaining a responsible budget and never exceeding it.

In January 2024, I was appointed Municipal Judge for the City of Anahuac. I have presided over criminal trials, civil trials, debt claims, magistrations, and jury trials. I maintain strong working relationships with the Chambers County District and County Attorney’s Offices, as well as local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.

My heart is, and always has been, in this community. My decades of experience in criminal justice, emergency response, and community service reflect my dedication to serving Chambers County with integrity and professionalism.

I respectfully ask for your support to continue serving as your full-time Justice of the Peace, Precinct #5.

Experience matters when you vote.

Re-Elect Judge David Hatfield.
