This week in TX-36

Last week, I had the opportunity to tour Hobby Airport with the Houston Airport System. Hobby Airport is the only 5-star-rated airport in North America, and I was honored to meet many of the people behind it. I enjoyed hearing from Southwest Airlines, the Transportation Security Administration, and the Federal Aviation Administration about how they work together to ensure Hobby’s success.

As the senior Texan on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, I’ve seen firsthand some of the needs that our nation’s airports face. Houston Airports are going the extra mile to keep Americans safe and to ensure our nation’s travelers get where they’re going efficiently and effectively. I’m grateful to the Houston Airport System for having me, and I look forward to continuing to fight for its needs in Washington.

It’s the men and women who are invested in the growth of cities that allow communities to thrive, and the Pearland Chamber is at the heart of Pearland’s success. I had the opportunity to see this up close this week as I visited with many business, community, and elected leaders at their Meet the Leaders reception. Pearland is one of the fastest-growing cities in the Houston region. With continued investment from organizations like the Pearland Chamber of Commerce, families, businesses, and communities are equipped to thrive. I am committed to ensuring they have the resources they need to do so.
