There has never seemed to be a more urgent time to gather together for prayer, for reflection, for repentance, a return to God. The community is invited to The Return September 26, 9 a.m., on the Courthouse grounds.
The event will be a time of prayer – for those in the federal government down to our own community. Scriptures will be read by members of the community as those attending reflect on the needs of the nation, the community and personal needs.
A Prayer Walk around the Courthouse will conclude the service.
The Return is a local observance of a national event of the same name. A gathering of thousands is expected on the National Mall in Washington, DC September 26 – thereturn.org. The local gathering is sponsored by Mid Chambers County Ministerial Alliance.
“The Return is a great opportunity for the Family of God to truly show how committed to God we are,” said Ministerial Alliance Chairman Mark Pagels.
“In Matthew 18: 20 Jesus says ‘For where two or three are gathered together as my followers, I am there among them.’
“So we know God will be there and hear our prayers. Please join us as we seek forgiveness, repentance, and guidance.”
Those attending should bring a lawn chair and wear a mask by order of the Chambers County Judge’s Office. For more information, contact Mark Pagels at firstname.lastname@example.org or (713)857-1517.
