We will never go beyond the limitations or the barriers we have set up in our own minds. If we don’t think our dreams will ever come to pass, they never will. If we think change will never take place, we shouldn’t be disappointed when everything remains the same. Many times it is wrong thinking, and the limitations we set on ourselves and our faith, that keep us where we are when everything within us cries out, “There has to be more.” If we can just change the way we think, God will change our life. Proverbs 23:7 declares, “For as a man thinks in his heart, so will he become.” History records an athletic runner named Roger Bannister. Mr. Banister did what others said was impossible. He was the first runner to run a mile in under four minutes. Until that day in 1954 track-n-field experts said it couldn’t be done. But, after much training and determination he broke the four minute mile barrier and went into the history books. Barriers in life are those things that keep us from God’s best. The first thing in breaking those barriers is to determine that you can. Philippians 4:13 says “that we can do all things through Christ”. Second, refuse to be held back by what others say. While others were talking what couldn’t be done, Mr. Banister was preparing to do it. So, don’t limit yourself. Most of all don’t limit what God can do. Determine that today is going to be the day that barriers that have held you back are going to be broken. Our days can be great when God is involved in them.
