What was the last time you intentionally went out of your way to build someone up?

I’m not talking about a quick “good job,” a casual “atta boy,” or a passing compliment. I’m talking about a genuine conversation where you invested your time, attention, and heart into encouraging another person. A conversation where your sole purpose was to strengthen them, inspire them, and remind them that they matter.

As believers, Scripture calls us to do exactly that. First Thessalonians 5:11 (CSB) says, “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up as you are already doing.” Ephesians 4:29 (CSB) reminds us, “No foul language should come from your mouth, but only what is good for building up someone in need, so that it gives grace to those who hear.”

If you had to stop and think about the last time you truly encouraged someone, well partner, it’s probably been too long.

We live in a world that is full of criticism, negativity, and discouragement. People are carrying burdens we know nothing about. A kind word, a sincere compliment, or a heartfelt conversation can make a tremendous difference.

Let’s look for opportunities to encourage others. Let’s be the bright spot in someone’s day. In doing so, we can make Winnie, USA an even better place to live.
