Have you noticed when you say you cannot do something, you usually don’t? When you talk about a problem, many times it gets bigger? In the Bible David faced many things, but he found comfort and safety in God. The 91st Psalm says, “He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.” We can win and withstand in difficult times no matter how impossible they look. We only need to give God our best, trusting He will make up the difference. The 91st Psalm is full of God’s promises and provision for our life. It calls us to a practical, personal relationship with God that results in rich blessings for our life. It begins by letting us know that there is a shelter we can run to. Next, the Psalm lets us know that there is a shadow that covers us. This reminds us that we are never very far from God’s presence or His power. The second verse of the Psalm says, “I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will I trust.” David is making a declaration of who God is in his life. He is my refuge! My fortress! My God! In Him I will trust! In life we face challenges. If faced alone they can sometimes be overwhelming. If faced with God, impossibilities become possibilities. So, in all of life’s challenges, don’t overlook the 91st Psalm Challenge.
