It has been said before, “Tough times don’t last, but tough people do.” Navigating life at times can be difficult. When we add into it the economy and what is going on in the world, it can almost be frightening. So, how do we navigate through these tough times? First, we don’t panic. God is our source. The stock market may not be stable, but God is. The same God that took care of you before can take care of you now. Second, don’t make emotional decisions. Decision made out of emotions, are many times decision we later regret. God is able to give us direction and the ability to make good, sound decisions. Third, be a giver. Something happens in your life, when you pour into someone else’s life.
2 Corinthians 9:6 teaches us that “He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.” A good deed may turn someone else’s life around, but it may be the thing that turns yours around. And finally, look to the future with optimism. History shows that difficult times don’t last forever. The Bible says that “sorrow may last for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” Approach each day as if it is the day everything will turn around.
