Stormy weather did not stop hundreds of bingo lovers from supporting the East Chambers County Independent School District’s Education Foundation annual Bucs Bingo. The event was held on Valentine’s Day evening at the Winnie Stowell Community Building. Organizers had heart shaped candies, mini cakes, and cake pops scattered on all the tables. Attendees also feasted on chili provided by Cattleman’s Kitchen.

Twenty bingo games were played for the prizes and about a dozen door prizes were awarded but the big winner of the evening was Gracie Vickers. Gracie won the raffle for the coveted Louis Vuitton tote bag.

The ECISD Education Foundation to date has awarded over $500,000 in grants that go directly to teachers and students. Its mission is to partner with the community to generate and distribute resources to enrich teaching, inspire learning, and maximize innovative opportunities for all students in the East Chambers school district.

While all the game prizes and door prizes were donated by member of the community, the Education Foundation wants to thank those members as well as special thanks to State Senator Mayes Middleton, Cattleman’s Kitchen and JW Beef Co, Wine and Beer – BMB Construction, Photobooth – Macy Richard, Cookies – Kaylee Revia and Lindsey Portier, Cake Pops – Haley Collins, Balloon Arch – Winter Martinez, and Backdrop – EC Art Class.
