Rainbow Bridge to Close for Maintenance for 18 Months

  The Rainbow Bridge will close for about 1 1/2 years beginning March 21, weather permitting, for a maintenance project, according to the Texas Department of Transportation. All traffic will be detoured to the Veterans Memorial Bridge with two lanes in each direction. A temporary detour has been constructed on the west side of the Veterans Memorial Bridge for the westbound traffic going into Port Arthur.
