For the past four years, the Biden Administration has waged an all-out attack on American energy through restrictions and radical green policies. Last week, I voted to end this war on American energy with the Protecting American Energy Production Act. This bill ensures fracking remains a key tool in our energy strategy, allowing us to tap into resources like the Permian Basin instead of relying on foreign adversaries. 

In 2023, more than 107,000 people died of drug overdoses, with roughly 75,000 of whom died from synthetic opioids—largely illicit fentanyl or fentanyl-related substances. Sadly, illicit fentanyl poisonings are now the number one cause of death among adults 18-49—more than cancer, heart disease, and car accidents.

Last week, the U.S. House of Representatives passed H.R. 27, the HALT Fentanyl Act. I proudly voted “YES” to advance this legislation to the United States Senate. 

The HALT Fentanyl Act is a crucial step in safeguarding American families and communities from the devastating effects of fentanyl-related substances. This bill would make the current temporary classification of these dangerous drugs permanent, ensuring law enforcement has the tools needed to keep them off our streets.

There’s a lot of noise about Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Claims that Musk has “unprecedented access to sensitive information” are completely false. There’s no evidence he or his team have unlawfully accessed data. DOGE’s mission is to sit down at America’s proverbial kitchen table and clear out government waste, NOT collect private info.

The REAL threat comes from decades of government mismanagement. President Trump’s reforms, implemented by leaders like Musk, are about stopping overreach, not expanding it. Laws protecting citizen data remain firmly in place. America’s concern is the billions Biden has wasted on priorities that don’t serve Americans. Trump promised accountability in Washington—and he’s delivering.

A few of the confirmed examples of reckless spending uncovered by Elon Musk at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) include:

$1.5 million to “advance diversity equity and inclusion in Serbia’s workplaces and business communities”

$70,000 for production of a “DEI musical” in Ireland

$2.5 million for electric vehicles for Vietnam

$47,000 for a “transgender opera” in Colombia

$32,000 for a “transgender comic book” in Peru

$2 million for sex changes and “LGBT activism” in Guatemala

$6 million to fund tourism in Egypt

Hundreds of thousands of dollars for a non-profit linked to designated terrorist organizations — even AFTER an inspector general launched an investigation

Millions to EcoHealth Alliance — which was involved in research at the Wuhan lab

“Hundreds of thousands of meals that went to al Qaeda-affiliated fighters in Syria”

Funding to print “personalized” contraceptives birth control devices in developing countries

Hundreds of millions of dollars to fund “irrigation canals, farming equipment, and even fertilizer used to support the unprecedented poppy cultivation and heroin production in Afghanistan,” benefiting the Taliban
