No Where to Run … No Where to Hide!

   This article is in no way here to lecture you, or to tell you how to live your lives. The main point is that in the 21^st century when you are in public you likely are on camera whether it’s security cameras, street cameras, civilians shooting video on their phones, and even the “Kiss Cam” at a Coldplay concert as demonstrated at their July 16 concert.

  Many agree that we all have a reasonable right to privacy. But what is considered to be “reasonable” is highly debatable. The concert took a moment to highlight couples in the arena that were obviously together and enjoying each other’s company. But something beyond hilarious happened on the Kiss Cam that evening. The camera focused on a man and a woman embracing each other as they enjoy the concert. Suddenly, when the couple was made aware that they were in the spotlight on the Kiss Cam the gentleman and the lady quickly ducked for cover as if their life was on the line and covered their faces in horror of the spotlight put upon them. Who reacts that way? Well…

  The story continues as the man, identified as Andy Bryon via social media, was a powerful CEO of an artificial intelligence company known as Astronomer. The woman was identified as Kristin Cabot and is the Chief People Officer within the same company, Astronomer. Andy Bryon and Kristin Cabot both have been put on leave. In a recent update we learned that Bryon resigned in disgrace. Cabot has not resigned yet as of this publication.

  Coldplay’s lead singer, Martin, laughed and joked when he addressed the couples’ desperate moves to be off camera to the arena’s audience and he said, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re just very shy.” Little did he know how correct he was and how it had turned the lives of Bryon’s and Cabot’s family’s upside down. And the couple has become the laughing stalk of the nation.

  Unfortunately, such “publicity” brings out the “bad” habits of those caught. Kristin Cabot appears to have a loose attitude when looking at her past and current relationships. The husband she cheated on at the Coldplay concert with Andy Bryon is the result of her cheating on the past husband to marry him, the current husband who is being cheated on; she cheated on two husbands in a row. And, Bryan released a statement that he was being videoed “without his permission” and that the camera captured a “private” moment. You cannot make this up. Is karma real?!

  As of 2024, the are over 85 million security surveillance cameras in the United States. And there are hundreds of millions of cell phone users whose smart phones have cameras. You hear people addressing the fact that Americans have a reasonable right to privacy. This makes a good political conversation, but it won’t take down any cameras. When you are not at home and in public, you should consider your reasonable right to privacy as being thrown out of the window. Every business, restaurant, corner market, retail store, and many more have always you on camera and record the cameras’ footage as well.

  The Kiss Cam that is seen at many major league sporting events and concerts is a long favorite of most Americans. It’s fun and cute to see happy couples together in their moment. But, if you’re cheating on your partner or spouse, it’s probably a good idea not to cuddle with your lover when the Kiss Cam is going around the public arena. For Bryon and Cabot, it will certainly be a night to remember!
